“Skater-Aid” Collection Event Benefiting Trinity Lutheran Code Blue Shelter Scheduled For May

by Ryan Weiss

Lansdale, PA > The Friends of Lansdale Skatepark, in collaboration with Ryan Weiss, Marketing Manager at Round Guys Brewing Company and local fan favorite drag queen, Annie Christ (pictured to left), will be hosting “Skater-Aid,” a supplies collection event benefiting Trinity Lutheran Church’s Code Blue shelter on May 22, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 4:00pm at the 4th Street Park & The Carl W. Saldutti Jr. Skatepark in Lansdale, Pennsylvania located at 351 E. Fourth Street Lansdale, PA 19446.

The North Penn area has a great history of stepping up and assisting those in need. The Friends of Lansdale Skatepark, Ryan and Annie recognized that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, area residents may be more in need now than ever. After reaching out to Trinity Lutheran Church in an effort to support the Code Blue shelter, the team was met with open arms by Pastor Fritz Fowler. Trinity Lutheran Church, located on the corner of Main Street and Valley Forge Road in Lansdale, maintains a Code Blue shelter for the colder months of the year. Their program provides those in need with a warm place to sleep, food, toiletries and hygiene supplies.

For this event, the organization team and Trinity Lutheran Church are suggesting the following items: backpacks, feminine hygiene products, ponchos, toiletries, to-go packs of hand wipes, socks, and laundry gift cards for Sudz Laundry, which is located at 124 E. Main Street in Lansdale.

To maintain proper social distancing for this drop off event, the team requests that those who wish to donate place the items in their trunk, or back seat of their vehicles for “no contact” collection in the parking lot area closest to the Skatepark. Click here for full event details.
